In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity capabilities, Leo CybSec is among the latest cohort of companies to participate in the Digital Security by Design (DSbD) Technology Access Programme, managed by Digital Catapult. This inclusion represents a crucial step towards validating next-generation cybersecurity technologies that promise to redefine the landscape of digital security.
The DSbD initiative, backed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), has seen a growing number of companies from various sectors, including Leo CybSec, come onboard to experiment with revolutionary cybersecurity technologies. This programme is part of the broader government-endorsed strategy aimed at creating a more secure digital future for all.
A Leap Towards a Secure Digital Future
Digital Catapult, the UK’s leading authority on advanced digital technology, has announced the addition of 14 companies, including Leo CybSec, to its DSbD Technology Access Programme. These companies join an elite group that was initially selected earlier this year, bringing together a diverse range of organisations to test and refine prototype cybersecurity solutions. The core of this initiative is the groundbreaking research conducted by the University of Cambridge in collaboration with SRI International, which led to the development of CHERI (Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions). This novel instruction set architecture is designed to mitigate two-thirds of cyberattacks by addressing hardware and software memory vulnerabilities. Arm’s contribution of the Morello board, a prototype system on a chip (SoC) designed for industrial evaluation, plays a pivotal role in this programme.
It offers companies like Leo CybSec a unique opportunity to integrate their software stacks onto the board, identify vulnerabilities, and enhance their cybersecurity measures.
Diverse Industries, Common Goal
The DSbD Technology Access Programme has attracted companies across a spectrum of industries, from automotive to fintech and telecom, including cybersecurity consultancies focusing on Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain technology, and cybersecurity. Leo CybSec, with its expertise in digital security, is poised to leverage DSbD technologies to tackle a broad range of security challenges especially in toe OT world. In March 2023, selected companies, including Leo CybSec, will be invited to showcase their use cases and experiences with the DSbD technologies at a special event hosted by Digital Catapult in London. This will offer a platform for participants to demonstrate the practical applications and benefits of these cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
As cybersecurity continues to be a paramount concern in the digital age, initiatives like the DSbD Technology Access Programme, with the active involvement of companies like us, are critical in pioneering a safer digital future for businesses and consumers alike.
